British Airways Business & First Class Sale Fares Loaded 9th March 2017

by Continental Club on March 9, 2017  |  One comment • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysBritish Airways has loaded its Luxury World Sale for 2017 travel to destinations worldwide in their Club World Business and First Class cabins. Periods of availability vary by destination as usual, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 21st March 2017. An official ‘Sale’ page is published to the airline’s website at ba.com, however the BA Low Fare Finder at ba.com is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

Overall, Club World fares are 3% lower on a simple average basis than those offered in the last sale, and First Class fares are 1% lower. As usual, some of this can be attributed to seasonal variations, with different travel periods featuring in consecutive sales.

Generally-speaking many destinations are cheaper than last time around, but the notably low-fare destinations of, say, Abu Dhabi and Muscat in the December sale, are more expensive this time.

Doha, by contrast, appears untouched in this sale, perhaps by virtue of all BA flights between London and the Qatari capital now being operated in a codeshare joint veture with Qatar Airways, who may have to approve any fare change.

The additional offer of a further £200 discount when two Club World tickets are booked together is also offered once again to destinations in North & Central America. These Companion Club World Business Class Fares must be purchased together and on the exact same itinerary with no deviations permitted.

The destinations included from London Heathrow are Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Dallas Fort Worth, New York (Newark), New York (JFK), Washington, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose (California), Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.

Club World Business Class and First Class Sale fares earn full Tier Point and Avios credit in the British Airways Executive Club, and points in the OnBusiness SME Loyalty programme for eligible members.

Travel dates are 5th January to 31st December 2017 and, as shown in the example above, Flight + Hotel holidays can also offer significant nominal savings against booking separately, especially when a Saturday night stay is not required, plus underlying Unforgettable Sale savings. British Airways Holidays bookings often also include hotel amenities such as complimentary WiFi.

Flights booked in this offer qualify for Avios and Tier Points in the British Airways Executive Club, and members of the club at the Bronze level and above benefit from all amenities associated with their level of status in the programme, including (as relevant) fast track security and boarding, lounge access and seat selection. In addition, bonus Avios are awarded to Executive Club members for BA Holidays booking, and deposit payments from £400 are available – both as shown in the screenshot above.

Note that IT fares do not earn points in the BA OnBusiness SME Loyalty programme, however. Offer excludes Johannesburg: Holiday Inn Express Sandton Woodmead, Mauritius: Coin de Mire, Grenada: Kalinago Beach Resort, Grenada: Grenadian by Rex, St Kitts: Timothy Beach, St Kitts: Oualie Beach Resort.

The booking deadline is midnight 5th January 2017. To check availability and to book, visit ba.com.

BA CW LEISURE

It’s difficult to pick fare highlights out in this particular sale; in part this is due to the last sale in November being a slightly unusual one with only certain destinations covered, but with significant discounts offered. This sale, then, is more comprehensive, but some fares are on-par, some are higher and a few are lower.

Taken in isolation, as opposed to in comparison with other sales, the standout destinations this time are therefore probably Abu Dhabi and Muscat, both of which are on sale from £1195 in Club World, and £1595 in First Class.

An additional offer of a further £200 discount when two Club World tickets are booked together is also offered to destinations in North & Central America. These Companion Club World Business Class Fares must be purchased together and on the exact same itinerary with no deviations permitted.

British Airways Black Friday Sale Update: More Fares Released

by Continental Club on November 24, 2016  |  2 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysLast night, we reported that British Airways had revealed its Black Friday & Cyber Monday sale, offering pairs of Club World Business Class return tickets to selected longhaul destinations for a combined total of £2016. This morning, it appears that more destinations have been added at flash sale fares; some at 2 for £2016 and some slightly higher. All fares are available to book now at ba.com with a booking deadline of 23:59GMT on 28th November 2016. Outbound travel to most destinations must take place on or after the 18th December 2016, and on or before the 2nd January 2017. Again for most destinations, travel must be completed by 6th January 2017.

As usual, Continental Club readers are among the very first to know about the sale, well before a specific promotional page for the sale appears on the BA website. With that in mind, the British Airways Low Fare Finder is the easiest means of checking and booking the lowest fares.

Update: the promotional page is now live at ba.com/blackfriday.

The additional fare availability includes destinations such as Nairobi and Toronto, meaning that this promotion targets North America, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East, with Latin America, the Caribbean, South Asia and Australia missing out this time around.

A key point is that some of these fares, despite being low, are both changeable and at least partially refundable, with no minimum stay requirement. Full terms are shown at the final fare page at ba.com.

Club World Business Class and First Class Sale fares earn full Tier Point and Avios credit in the British Airways Executive Club, and points in the OnBusiness SME Loyalty programme for eligible members. Connecting itineraries may offer higher levels of Tier Point and Avios earning.

For a list of currently available longhaul destinations and starting Club World and First Class fares, scroll down or click ‘READ MORE’ below. The listing includes the equivalent fares from the last full sale in October 2016, although that sale did of course offer a greater range of travel dates.

Club World fares are on average 10% higher than the last sale in June 2016 and First Class fares are just over 11% higher than last time, although in both cases this may be the result of not quite all fares being loaded yet. There are arguably fewer ‘stand-out’ fares in this sale than in previous ones, but Business Class to the Middle East look to be the best value propositions this time around.
