QatarQatar Airways has launched an ‘Australia Day’ promotion with special fares from the UK to both Australia and New Zealand from £579. The lowest fare is offered in conjunction with the airline’s debut services from Cardiff Wales Airport (CWL) to Doha, commencing on 1st May 2018.

The airline is also promoting the opportunity to save an addition 10% on the base fare when booking through ‘mobile’ channels, using a tablet or smartphone and the code ‘GOMOBILE‘.

In practice the lowest available fare between Cardiff and Perth is actually showing on qatarairways.com at £569.47, almost £10 under the advertised £579:

However, the additional 10% discount then appears to be slightly less than might otherwise be expected:

Note that the GOMOBILE code is not restricted to Australia and New Zealand however; it should work on other routes, too.

Members of the British Airways Executive Club earn Avios at the rate of 25% of flown miles, with the promotional fares booking into ‘W’ class.

by Continental Club on December 20, 2017  |  Leave a comment • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysBritish Airways has now loaded sale fares in its World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) cabins for travel to destinations worldwide on selected dates throughout 2018. Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 30th January 2018. An official ‘Sale’ page is published to the airline’s website at ba.com but, as always, the BA Low Fare Finder is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

Overall, Economy fares are 8% lower and Premium Economy fares are 6% lower than in the last full sale. Sydney moves back £697 return from £733 in Economy, for example. Los Angeles sheds £172 from its last Premium Economy sale fare, while Vancouver loses an additional £47 compared to last time around. Mauritius remains favoured, with its notable sub £1000 Premium Economy fare still available time. The Economy fare on that route drops from £678 to £606, but Muscat is the standout from £299 return in Economy and £509 in Premium Economy – both fares being £30 lower than in the last sale.

Looking West, Boston from £300 in particular, and New York from £368, are as low as we’ve seen for some time.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

For a full list of longhaul destinations and lowest fares, click ‘READ MORE’ or scroll down. The listing includes the equivalent fares from the last full sale in August 2017, rather than the short ‘flash’ Black Friday promotion in November 2017, which was highly date and destination-restricted.

Although the ba.com Sale page is live, the fastest way to check availability and to book may still be to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com.

British Airways Business & First Class Sale Fares Loaded 4th May 2017

by Continental Club on May 4, 2017  |  3 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysBritish Airways is now loading a Luxury World Sale for 2017 and early 2018 travel to destinations worldwide in their Club World Business and First Class cabins. As usual, Continental Club is ahead of public promotion, and therefore readers have the best chance to grab any limited availability. Travel dates vary by destination as usual, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 23rd May 2017. As an official ‘Sale’ page is yet to be published to the airline’s website at ba.com, the BA Low Fare Finder at ba.com is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

Some fares and availabilities are still being loaded, although those noted below have been checked against the current fares database and therefore should feed through shortly. For now, some fares may be bookable straight away as part of a British Airways Holidays package. For example, seven nights in Ras Al Khaimah is offered from £1329 per person including breakfast and Club World flights, staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island:

Per the highlighted text in this screen grab, the book-by date for this promotion is 9th May 2017, however, rather than 23rd May for the main flight-only Sale.

Overall, Club World fares are 8% higher on a simple average basis than those offered in the last sale, and First Class fares are 2% higher. As usual, some of this can be attributed to seasonal variations, with different travel periods featuring in consecutive sales.

Generally-speaking though, North America seems to have been sprinkled with the least amount of Sale dust, with Club fares on average 11% higher than in the last sale.

If there’s a standout fare in this sale, it would appear to be Club World to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic from £1192 return – which is £103 cheaper than in the last sale.

Club World Business Class and First Class Sale fares earn full Tier Point and Avios credit in the British Airways Executive Club, and points in the OnBusiness SME Loyalty programme for eligible members.

For a list of currently available longhaul destinations and starting Club World and First Class fares, scroll down or click ‘READ MORE’ below. The listing includes the equivalent fares from the last full sale in March 2017.
