The up-in-the-air pair have pledged to raise £20,000 for Flying Start, the global charity partnership between British Airways and Comic Relief UK – a partnership whose aim is ‘to raise money to help children living incredibly tough lives in the UK and around the world’.

The challenge took off on Saturday 16th September from New York, headquarter city of oneworld, before heading West to first port-of-call Chicago.

The latter-day Phileas Fogg and Passepartout’s progress can be followed on the Round The oneworld Blog at http://rtow2012.wordpress.com/, and donations to Flying Start are welcome at http://donate.ba-flyingstart.com/funraiser/roundtheoneworld.

London 2012 airline partner British Airways is giving their Executive Club members the chance to enjoy their Park Live spectator area within the Olympic Park. There are 12 prizes of four passes each, which will also allow winners to watch events such as wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, goalball and 5/7 a-side football as part of a ‘support-around’ programme for the Paralympics.

To enter, email paralympics@ectickets-2012.co.uk with ’40 words on what you love most about the London 2012 Games’.

And, in a separate promotion, Executive Club members can register for the chance to win in the Big Bonus Avios Draw.

Following registration, members who are travelling on an eligible flight during the Paralympics will be in with the chance of sharing a prize-pot likely to total millions of Avios frequent-flyer points. British Airways Business And First Class Summer Sale 2012

by Continental Club on June 6, 2012  |  One comment

British Airways First Class, Club World and Club Europe Business Class sale fares are now available for booking, following the Continental Club advance warning of the new fares being loaded a day before public advertising started.

Click here to access sale fares.

With return flights from London to Bangkok from £1299 this Summer, BA has loaded fares for one of their most aggressive Business Class sales in recent years.

North American destinations start at £1070 return and Sydney fares are from £2987, the latter undercutting almost every ‘fully-flatbed’ competitor on the route from London.

Closer to home, Istanbul is the standout offer, with fares from just £299 return in Club Europe – including lounge access, increased luggage allowance and extra ‘Tier Points’ and ‘Avios’ for members of the British Airways Executive Club.

Bookings must be made by 14th June 2012 and as BA are running hard-copy press adverts, experience suggests  that the deadline is unlikely to be extended. Previous extensions have usually only been applied to promotions which have been exclusively advertised online.

Sale fares are visible and available to book now by checking the British Airways Low Fare Finder and selecting ‘Business Class’ from the drop-down cabin class selector.

British Airways Offers Free Flights And London 2012 Olympic Games Tickets

by Continental Club on June 1, 2012  |  One comment

From the 1st to the 14th June, London 2012 partner airline British Airways will be offering UK-based customers the chance to ‘fly a friend home for free‘.

The idea behind the promotion is based on evidence that competitors perform best when backed by the greatest levels of motivation from their own supporters – the so-called ‘home advantage.’

Denise Lewis, Sir Clive Woodward and Michael Johnson are championing the drive to encourage Britons to back TeamGB Olympians and Paralympians, with British Airways giving away £250,000 of tickets to fly friends and relatives of competitors, as well as winners of the #HomeAdvantage competition back to London for the Summer games.

There are twelve pairs of tickets available from each of 20 British Airways overseas stations and full details are to be found on the British Airways #HomeAdvantage webpage.

Further updates will also be available by ‘following’ British Airways (or searching the ‘hashtag’ #HomeAdvantage) on Twitter and by ‘liking’ their page on Facebook.

And, as of 6th June 2012, there’s an additional opportunity for British Airways’ Executive Club members to win tickets. Simply go to the registration page and log in with your Executive Club username and password/PIN.

Hilton & British Airways Q1 2012 Promo – Up To Triple Avios

by Continental Club on February 14, 2012  |  Leave a comment

In addition to the main Hilton  Q1 promotion featured in our last post Hotel Loyalty Programme Promotions Q1 2012, Hilton has also partnered with the British Airways Executive Club to offer up to three times the usual number of Avios on eligible stays until the end of March 2012.

Hilton HHonors members already enjoy the opportunity to ‘double-dip’ to earn both HHonors points and/or airline currency. So, depending on your preferences, the terms and conditions say that “you will earn 750* Avios per stay, plus 1,500 bonus Avios per stay. HHonors members choosing Variable Miles award, will earn one Avios per one USD spent, plus two bonus Avios per one USD spent. Customers must be an HHonors member to earn bonus miles. For Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites under fixed miles award, 200 bonus Avios will be offered per stay. For Home2 Suites under variable miles award, up to 100 Avios will be offered per stay. Hilton HHonors members must have their earning preference set to ‘Points & Miles’ and must have British Airways as the preferred airline partner.”

*The asterisk above reflects the fact that this could be a typographical error, as the normal earnings rate is 500, not 750 Avios. If it is a typo then the bonus would therefore be 1,000 Avios. Either way, and especially coming on top of the generic Q1 promotion, this offer looks rather generous for Avios collectors at Hilton.

To benefit, HHonors members must register prior to staying, by clicking here.
