British Airways Economy & Premium Economy Sale Fares Loaded 16th June 2016

British AirwaysBritish Airways has now also loaded its World Is On Sale fares for travel in its World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) cabins to destinations worldwide on selected dates through into 2017. As with the First Class and Club World sale fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 12th July 2016. An official ‘sale‘ page is published to the airline’s website, but the BA Low Fare Finder at ba.com is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

BA WT NEW

Fares are largely on a par with those offered in the last sale; World Traveller prices are 2% higher and World Traveller plus fares are 1% lower on average. This disguises slightly the fact that Economy fares to North American destinations are largely untouched by the Sale. Other destinations are mostly on-par with last time. By contrast, Premium Economy fares to US cities and the Middle East look to be even better value than last time around, with Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha & Dubai all from c£600 return.  One other notable fare is Sydney at £693 in Economy – even lower than the last sale fare which, as we noted at the time, was itself a very competitive fare for a non-Middle East connection.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

The ba.com Sale page is live, however the fastest way to check availability and to book may still be to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com.

As with the First Class and Club World sale fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 17th May 2016. Fares are largely on a par with those offered in the last sale; World Traveller prices are 3.5% lower and World Traveller plus fares are 0.6% higher on average. That means that there aren’t any really stand-out fares compared to last time, save to say that Premium Economy to high-volume destinations on the US East Coast and the Middle East look to be good value, and Sydney at £733 in Economy is a very competitive fare for a non-Middle East connection – if not quite as low as it has been in the recent past.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

New York Economy fares, for example, are valid for travel between 25th December 2015 and 13th January 2016. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 30th November 2015. The reservation system also shows sale fares being loaded in the airline’s Club World business and First Class cabins, and we will publish a separate list of these as soon as we have collated them.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

British Airways Economy & Premium Economy Sale Fares Loaded 19th August 2015

by Continental Club on August 20, 2015  |  Leave a comment • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysBritish Airways has loaded its late Summer sale of World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) fares for travel to destinations worldwide on selected dates. Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal and demand variations. As usual though, the best availability exists in the early stages of the promotion booking period.

Overall, average sale fares appear to be generally the same or lower than in the last comparable World Traveller and World Traveller Plus sale. The standout change is that, after some time, World Traveller Plus fares – particularly to the East Coast of the USA –  have reverted to levels not seen for a few sales. This may in part due to these fares no longer being the Avios upgrade ‘sweet spot’ that they once were.

One other change is that the booking deadline for this sale isn’t currently published, and the individual detailed fare rules themselves suggest various book-by dates. East Coast USA Economy fares appear to be available until 30th September, while Premium Economy fares show bookable until 25th August 2015. Update 16th September 2015: the sale has now been extended to 29th September 2015.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme. Following the April 2015 changes to the Executive Club, earnings rates have changed and Avios and Tier Point amounts can be checked using the Earnings Calculator.

Although the fares are also promoted on the ba.com sale page, the fastest way to check availability and to book, visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com.

British Airways Economy & Premium Economy Sale Fares Loaded 25th June 2015

British AirwaysBritish Airways has loaded another range of World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) fares for travel to destinations worldwide on selected dates. Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal and demand variations. As usual though, the best availability exists in the early stages of the promotion booking period, and all bookings must be made be 23:59BST on 14th July 2015. Booking deadline extended to 23:59BST on 21st July 2015.

BA A380 Y

Overall, average sale fares appear to be 7% higher than in the last comparable World Traveller sale, and 12% higher than the last World Traveller Plus sale. This is largely driven by some cities, principally in North America, having escaped the ‘Sale’ fairy dust completely. Thankfully, many other fares are within £1 or £2 of the last sale’s prices.

Although premium cabins are not included in this promotion, there are some tactical offers still around. Washington DC, for example, is currently available from £3141.06 return in First Class, which is not only £52 cheaper than the last First Class sale fare, it also represents an upgrade cost of just £100 each way from Club World business class.

British Airways Economy Sale Fares Loaded 12th December 2014

by Continental Club on December 12, 2014  |  3 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , ,

In what looks like a slightly unusual move, British AirwaysBritish Airways has today loaded World Traveller (Economy) sale fares in to their booking system – but hasn’t yet paired them with World Traveller Plus (premium economy) fares which traditionally make up a combined two-cabin promotion.

Update: World Traveller Plus fares are now fully-loaded too.

As regular readers and browsers of the Continental Club British Airways Sale Fares Archive will know, this sale also comes rather earlier than we’re used to seeing in December – though the launch of some other airline sales earlier in the day may have been an accelerating factor…..

British Airways Boeing 777-336ER World Traveller Cabin

There are a few World Traveller Plus fares showing at or close to previous sale fares – Chengdu at £790, Shanghai at £854 and Hong Kong at £908 return being three examples – but they’re so far few and far between.

Newly-announced destinations are included in the economy sale though, including Kuala Lumpur from £606 return, and Sharm el Sheikh from £199 return.

Bookings must be made by 27th January 2015, with travel dates, minimum stay and advance purchase requirements varying by destination.

A ‘sale‘ page is now live on the British Airways website, but the quickest way to check availability and to book is to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com. Perhaps interestingly, the terms and conditions section of the sale page do make reference to not just World Traveller Plus, but also to Club World and First Class fares. It’s possible that fare reductions for travel in those cabins are therefore ahead.

All fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.
