British Airways has now loaded sale fares in its World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) cabins for travel to destinations worldwide on selected dates throughout 2019 and the first half of 2020. Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 24th September 2019. An official ‘Sale’ page is published to the airline’s website at ba.com but, as always, the BA Low Fare Finder is the best way to check the new fares and availability.
Overall, Economy fares are 2% higher than in the last full sale on a simple average basis and Premium Economy fares are on a par. Sydney is down to £628 from £655 return in Economy, while New York sheds the pounds in Premium Economy; down to £560 from £726 in May. Likewise Boston is down from £747 to £547.
Conversely, Phoenix – which returns to Heathrow’s Terminal 5, but also switches from 747-400 to 777-300 equipment from March 2020 – rises from £408 to £509 for Economy lead-in fares, and from £872 to £953 in Premium.
The Middle East and Africa generally see higher starting fares than in the last sale, with the exception of The Seychelles – Economy is down from £695 to £614, and Premium eases from £956 to £831.
All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 21st May 2019. Overall, Economy fares are 5% higher and Premium Economy fares are 6% higher than in the last full sale on a simple average basis. Sydney is now £655 return in Economy, from £617 in December, though down from £697 the previous year. However, Los Angeles sheds another £34 from its last Premium Economy sale fare, while Vancouver loses an additional £20 compared to last time around. Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi all see lower Premium Economy fares than in the last sale.
Looking West in Economy, it’s Los Angeles and San Jose (California) that benefit from the lowest £268 fares. Some of these new, low, Economy prices are partly driven by the airline’s recent move to offer hand luggage only deals on longhaul, as well as shorthaul routes.
