Prior to the publication of a specific ‘Sale’ page The ‘Sale‘ page is now live at ba.com, although the airline’s Low Fare Finder is the most effective way of locating sale fare availability, which extends across both Club World business and First Class cabins on longhaul routes, and Club Europe shorthaul business class as well. The Ultimate British Airways Sale Fare Archive

by Continental Club on January 12, 2015  |  7 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysThis is the Ultimate British Sale Fare Archive – every ex-UK BA longhaul ‘Sale’ since December 2010 that Continental Club has covered is listed here, with a link to the article published when the relevant fares were first loaded.

BA 380 Image

The cabin codes are as follows:

     Economy                          World Traveller

W     Premium Economy           World Traveller Plus

      Business                          Club World

F       First                                 First

The archive is updated upon publication of a new longhaul sale. Although there are no guarantees as to when the next sale will take place, readers are welcome to identify any patterns! For those less familiar with the BA promotional calendar, it’s particularly worth mentioning that 2012 was an atypical year, as the airline was a major sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics and ran several specifically Olympic-related sales.

More recently, the airline has released some short ‘flash’ sales for specific periods such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Destinations and dates are typically highly-restricted and therefore we generally don’t record these.

For the earliest notice of when the next BA sale is taking place, follow us on Facebook and Twitter. And, at all times, the best current fares are most easily found by using the Low Fare Finder at ba.com.

British Airways Club World & First Class Sale Fares Loaded 17th December 2014

by Continental Club on December 18, 2014  |  One comment • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysBritish Airways traditionally leads the market with a pre-Christmas sale in all of its longhaul cabins. In recent years, it has broken cover around a week before Christmas Day itself. This year, things haven’t exactly worked out the same way, with Christmas fares appearing more like lonesome tone-deaf voices knowing only half the words to the carol, rather than King’s College Choir in full chorus.

Finally though, it sounds like the Waterside version of Gareth Malone has turned up and got everyone to at least read from the same hymn book.

So, HallelujahClub World business and First Class sale fares are now loaded, following on from last week’s World Traveller economy and World Traveller Plus premium economy sale launches.

British Airways A380 First Class Cabin Interior

As with the sale in those World Traveller and World Traveller Plus cabins, bookings must be made by 27th January 2015, for travel dates which vary by destination. All Club World business and First Class sale fares qualify for full credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as for OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

There are still a few X-Factor early-round bum-note interlopers though, which makes analysing the sale quite difficult overall. Seoul, for example, is almost 25% cheaper in First Class than it was last time around, while New York is almost 30% more expensive in Club World. That said, for anyone who has been hovering over the ‘book now’ button in recent weeks, most destinations do see notable reductions during the relevant travel periods.

British Airways Premium Economy Sale Fares Loaded 13th December 2014

by Continental Club on December 13, 2014  |  2 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , ,

In a follow-up to our post on British AirwaysBritish Airways  World Traveller (economy) sale fares, the airline’s World Traveller Plus (premium economy) promotional fares are now feeding through to the booking system.

The full range of fares for Premium Economy sale fare travel to all British Airways longhaul destinations has now been loaded, and the sale fare listing at the end of this post has been completed and updated as of 17th December 2014. Some previously-published sale fares have now been reduced slightly further. Check ba.com for full details, or scroll down for a comprehensive list.

As we mentioned earlier, regular readers and browsers of the Continental Club British Airways Sale Fares Archive will observe that this sale also comes rather earlier than we’re used to seeing in December – and it seems that the fares are being loaded progressively rather than the in the usual ‘fell-swoop’.

BA A380 World Traveller Plus

Newly-announced destinations are included in the premium economy sale though, including Kuala Lumpur from £1003 return.

Bookings must be made by 27th January 2015, with travel dates, minimum stay and advance purchase requirements varying by destination.

There is a ‘sale‘ page live on the British Airways website, but the quickest way to check availability and to book is to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com. The terms and conditions section of the sale page do make reference to not just World Traveller and World Traveller Plus, but also to Club World and First Class fares. It’s possible that fare reductions for travel in those cabins are therefore ahead.

All fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

British Airways Economy Sale Fares Loaded 12th December 2014

by Continental Club on December 12, 2014  |  3 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , ,

In what looks like a slightly unusual move, British AirwaysBritish Airways has today loaded World Traveller (Economy) sale fares in to their booking system – but hasn’t yet paired them with World Traveller Plus (premium economy) fares which traditionally make up a combined two-cabin promotion.

Update: World Traveller Plus fares are now fully-loaded too.

As regular readers and browsers of the Continental Club British Airways Sale Fares Archive will know, this sale also comes rather earlier than we’re used to seeing in December – though the launch of some other airline sales earlier in the day may have been an accelerating factor…..

British Airways Boeing 777-336ER World Traveller Cabin

There are a few World Traveller Plus fares showing at or close to previous sale fares – Chengdu at £790, Shanghai at £854 and Hong Kong at £908 return being three examples – but they’re so far few and far between.

Newly-announced destinations are included in the economy sale though, including Kuala Lumpur from £606 return, and Sharm el Sheikh from £199 return.

Bookings must be made by 27th January 2015, with travel dates, minimum stay and advance purchase requirements varying by destination.

A ‘sale‘ page is now live on the British Airways website, but the quickest way to check availability and to book is to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com. Perhaps interestingly, the terms and conditions section of the sale page do make reference to not just World Traveller Plus, but also to Club World and First Class fares. It’s possible that fare reductions for travel in those cabins are therefore ahead.

All fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

BA Club World: Worldwide Destinations For £1007 Rtn

by Continental Club on November 28, 2014  |  4 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysIn what might be the ‘airline fare deal of the year from the UK,’ British Airways has loaded Club World offers to some of its most popular longhaul destinations for an advertised £1007 per person return – representing a saving of up to 67% on the previous business class fare. Flights must be booked by midnight Thursday 4th December 2014. Outbound travel dates are between 21st December 2014 and 3rd January 2015, with all inbound travel to be complete by 11th January 2015.

British Airways Club World A380

The discounted fares earn full credit with both the British Airways Executive Club loyalty programme and also the OnBusiness Small & Medium Enterprise corporate rewards programme.

Owing to variations in, presumably, tax calculations and foreign exchange rates, the actual fares on sale can go a little lower than £1007 – down to £999 per person in return in some cases.

For full details and to book, visit the special ‘2 for £2014‘ offer page at ba.com.

For a full list of destinations and lowest currently available fares included in the offer click ‘Read More’ or scroll down (destinations not included are shown blank, although non-sale fares are still available):

British Airways Business & First Class Sale Fares Loaded 23rd October 2014

by Continental Club on October 23, 2014  |  4 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysBritish Airways is loading sale fares in its longhaul Club World Business and First Class cabins, for travel to destinations worldwide. Our constant watch on fares means that we can highlight savings before they’re publicly promoted in the media, via travel agents or even on the BA.com homepage.

BA Luxury Sale Autumn 2014

The airline has updated a webpage in its ‘offers‘ section however, which highlights Club World and First Class fares for travel at Christmas and during the UK Winter Half Term breaks. Other travel dates are available, and bookings must be made by Wednesday 12th November 2014.

As always, Club World Business Class and First Class Sale fares earn full Tier Point and Avios credit in the British Airways Executive Club, and points in the OnBusiness SME Loyalty programme for eligible members.

The fares are not all fully-loaded yet; some are listed in the system but availability is only just being attached to seats – so keep checking at ba.com. Other fares (for example Bermuda) are not yet showing a sale fare on direct services from London, however there maybe indirect availability at lower/sale fares with connections on American Airlines. Sale fares are non-changeable and non-cancellable.

There look to be fewer stand-out fares in this sale than the last one; most of biggest reductions are probably more to do with the August sale not offering a particularly strong fare to a given destination – for example Boston being 19% lower in Club this time round. Conversely, South East Asian destinations barely feature in this sale, with Bengalaru starting at £2212 now, compared to £1370 during the Summer sale. This may of course change as fares are continuing to appear.

For a full list of currently available longhaul destinations and starting Club World and First Class fares, scroll down or click ‘READ MORE’ below. The listing includes some fares which are not ‘Sale’ fares per se, but are listed for completeness, as well as the equivalent fares from the last ‘Luxury World‘ sale in August 2014.
