British Airways

British Airways has now loaded sale fares in its World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) cabins for travel to destinations worldwide on selected dates throughout 2018. Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 31st January 2019. An official ‘Sale’ page is published to the airline’s website at ba.com but, as always, the BA Low Fare Finder is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

Overall, Economy fares are 5% lower and Premium Economy fares are 3% lower than in the last full sale on a simple average basis. Sydney is now £617 return in Economy, from £628 in August and from £697 in the same sale last year; an 11.5% reduction. Los Angeles sheds £69 from its last Premium Economy sale fare, while Vancouver loses an additional £30 compared to last time around. Mauritius is favoured once again, with its Premium Economy fare back down to £958. The Economy fare on that route drops from £535 to £514, which is £92 cheaper than the December 2017 Sale. Eastbound, Shanghai is probably the standout from £351 return in Economy and £616 in Premium Economy – being £57 and £117 respectively lower than in the last sale.

Looking West, San Francisco from £288 in Economy is unprecedented for BA.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

For a full list of longhaul destinations and lowest fares, click ‘READ MORE’ or scroll down. The listing includes the equivalent fares from the last full sale in August 2018, rather than the short ‘flash’ Black Friday promotion in November 2018, which was highly date and destination-restricted.

Although the ba.com Sale page is live, the fastest way to check availability and to book may still be to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com.

The Ultimate British Airways Sale Fare Archive

by Continental Club on January 12, 2015  |  7 comments • Tagged as: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

British AirwaysThis is the Ultimate British Sale Fare Archive – every ex-UK BA longhaul ‘Sale’ since December 2010 that Continental Club has covered is listed here, with a link to the article published when the relevant fares were first loaded.

BA 380 Image

The cabin codes are as follows:

     Economy                          World Traveller

W     Premium Economy           World Traveller Plus

      Business                          Club World

F       First                                 First

The archive is updated upon publication of a new longhaul sale. Although there are no guarantees as to when the next sale will take place, readers are welcome to identify any patterns! For those less familiar with the BA promotional calendar, it’s particularly worth mentioning that 2012 was an atypical year, as the airline was a major sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics and ran several specifically Olympic-related sales.

More recently, the airline has released some short ‘flash’ sales for specific periods such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Destinations and dates are typically highly-restricted and therefore we generally don’t record these.

For the earliest notice of when the next BA sale is taking place, follow us on Facebook and Twitter. And, at all times, the best current fares are most easily found by using the Low Fare Finder at ba.com.

To check the best current fares at any time, visit the Low Fare Finder at ba.com.
