British Airways Economy & Premium Economy Sale Fares Loaded 2nd May 2019

British Airways

British Airways has now loaded sale fares in its World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) cabins for travel to destinations worldwide on selected dates throughout 2019 and the first months of 2020. Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 21st May 2019. An official ‘Sale’ page is published to the airline’s website at ba.com but, as always, the BA Low Fare Finder is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

Overall, Economy fares are 5% higher and Premium Economy fares are 6% higher than in the last full sale on a simple average basis. Sydney is now £655 return in Economy, from £617 in December, though down from £697 the previous year. However, Los Angeles sheds another £34 from its last Premium Economy sale fare, while Vancouver loses an additional £20 compared to last time around. Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi all see lower Premium Economy fares than in the last sale.

Looking West in Economy, it’s Los Angeles and San Jose (California) that benefit from the lowest £268 fares. Some of these new, low, Economy prices are partly driven by the airline’s recent move to offer hand luggage only deals on longhaul, as well as shorthaul routes.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

Overall, Economy fares are 5% lower and Premium Economy fares are 3% lower than in the last full sale on a simple average basis. Mauritius is favoured once again, with its Premium Economy fare back down to £958. The Economy fare on that route drops from £535 to £514, which is £92 cheaper than the December 2017 Sale. Eastbound, Shanghai is probably the standout from £351 return in Economy and £616 in Premium Economy – being £57 and £117 respectively lower than in the last sale.

Looking West, San Francisco from £288 in Economy is unprecedented for BA.

For a full list of longhaul destinations and lowest fares, click ‘READ MORE’ or scroll down. The listing includes the equivalent fares from the last full sale in August 2018, rather than the short ‘flash’ Black Friday promotion in November 2018, which was highly date and destination-restricted.

Periods of availability vary by destination, reflecting seasonal demand variations. Fares must be booked by 23:59 GMT on 26th September 2017. An official ‘Sale’ page will undoubtedly be published later to the airline’s website at ba.com, but for now the BA Low Fare Finder is the best way to check the new fares and availability.

Overall, Economy and Premium Economy fares are 4% higher than in the last sale. Sydney moves from £699 return to £733 in Economy, for example. Los Angeles adds £100 to its Premium Economy fare, while Vancouver sheds £70 compared to last time around. Mauritius remains favoured, with its notable sub £1000 Premium Economy fare reappearing this time.

All sale fares qualify for Avios and Tier Point credit in the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme, as well as OnBusiness points for small and medium sized enterprises enrolled in that programme.

Until the ba.com Sale page is live, the fastest way to check availability and to book may still be to visit the Low Fares Finder at ba.com.
